We are a group of gemstone suppliers with a commitment to transparency and responsible sourcing in the gemstone supply chain. Each of us is working in various ways to do this, including:

• supporting artisanal miners and their communities
• providing gemstones with verifiable origins and full traceability
• committing to fair pay and fair treatment for everyone involved in the supply chain
• adhering to clear and responsible environmental policies
• promoting health and safety at mine and supplying SCS-certified recycled diamonds and gemstones

On Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th September, Nineteen48 is joining with Fair Trade Gemstones to host a gem fair at the British Academy of Jewellery (BAJ) in central London.

The event will run from 10am to 6pm on both days.

It's free to attend, but please register in advance, so that we know you're coming and we can send you more details about the event.

We will also be offering a range of gemstones from Ian Bone (Capricorn Gems) and some other ethical gem suppliers.

In advance of the event, please review the gemstones on our websites and let us know if there is anything in particular that you would like to see on the day, so that we can have it ready for you to view.

The gemstones available will include a range of sapphire, ruby, opal, diamonds, garnet, spinel and chrysoprase. These gems come from traceable sources in Sri Lanka, Australia, Malawi, Tanzania and the USA.

All stones that we sell have the complete assurance of responsible mining and production and we can provide full details about the source of each gemstone.

The Ethical Gem Suppliers will be returning to Denver for the second year this September! Local gallery Balefire Goods will again host the collective in their Ethical Gem Fair Denver. This event will be open to the trade only, on Tuesday, September 6th and Wednesday, September 7th, 2022.

This is a buying event where you will have the opportunity to find exceptional gemstones from the various suppliers, who all share the belief that gemstones can be more than just beautiful. Each holds a strong commitment to transparency and responsible sourcing. The brands that make up this collective include Agere Treasures, ANZA Gems, Capricorn Gems, Columbia Gem House, Fairtrade Gemstones, Nature’s Geometry, Nineteen48, Perpetuum Jewels, Quore, and Virtu Gem. The brands in attendance for this event will each have a variety of gemstones available with event-only promotions available.
